Volunteering & Employment Pathways
Dynamic eLearning resources
The Volunteering and Employment Pathways project was created to support culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities in understanding and engaging with volunteering as a stepping stone toward future employment. Delivered in partnership with the Toowoomba International and Multicultural Society (TIMS), the program equips participants with the knowledge, confidence, and skills to take their first steps into volunteering — and from there, into the workforce.

The Process
Community consultations and feedback revealed a clear knowledge gap about volunteering and its role in employment pathways. To address this, we developed interactive eLearning modules enriched with videos, dedicated vocabulary lists, and translated resources. These materials were carefully designed to make volunteering concepts clear, culturally relevant, and accessible to learners from diverse backgrounds. By focusing on clarity and cultural fit, the program helps participants gain both the confidence and skills needed to explore volunteering opportunities.
The Outcome
The project is empowering CALD participants to actively engage in volunteer roles, building valuable skills and confidence that enhance their employability. The use of culturally and linguistically accessible learning resources ensures no one is left behind, while videos and practical examples make the learning both engaging and relatable. By bridging the gap between volunteering and employment, the initiative strengthens pathways to work while also fostering stronger community participation.
