Cyber Security Champions

Diversity & Inclusion Solutions

The Project

Cyber Security Champions

Concinnity is collaborating on the Cyber Security Champions initiative, a vital community capacity-building program managed by the Toowoomba International and Multicultural Society (TIMS). This project focuses on training individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds to become influential Cyber Security Champions within their communities.

Our Process & Solutions

The program is designed to empower participants with both technical knowledge and essential soft skills. Our process involves:

  • Specialised Training: Delivering targeted training that enables individuals to become advocates for online safety, raising awareness of common cyber threats and safe online practices.

  • Employment-Related Skill Development: Participants simultaneously gain valuable, transferable skills crucial for employment, including effective communication, confident facilitation, and proficient use of digital platforms.

  • Video Production: We organised video creation as valuable resources that support both learning within the program and its wider promotion.

  • Structured Workshops: Training is delivered through structured workshops that ensure comprehensive learning.

  • Community Outreach: The project actively supports broader digital inclusion through engaging community events.

  • Peer-Support Model: A key component is fostering a peer-support network, enabling champions to learn from and support each other in their roles.

Key Outcomes

The Cyber Security Champions project yields significant outcomes for digital safety and community empowerment:

  • Increased Cyber Awareness: Trained champions effectively raise awareness of online threats within CALD communities, enhancing collective digital resilience.

  • Enhanced Employability: Participants acquire critical employment-related skills, boosting their confidence and prospects in the job market.

  • Fostered Digital Inclusion: The initiative directly supports broader digital inclusion by empowering community members to navigate the online world safely and confidently, aided by comprehensive learning resources including video.

  • Community Capacity Building: The project creates a sustainable network of champions who serve as trusted resources, multiplying the impact of cyber security education.
